Resistive only use on LCD if I'm not mistaken. Capacitive uses less battery and came in variety of technology. Amoled, super Amoled, Super Amoled+, WGVA Amoled, nCdK, LCD...etc. Everyone know that LED screen has better colour and darker black.
i want something which can be used easily and more friendly,i don't want names super, super almond++++ ,etc.

n900 screen gives me freedom, thats all!!!!!

No, most definitely no. But latest example from my point of view. Try to play reverstris on some android device and then on n900.
And browsing also. I don't have to zoom in and out on n900 like on X10.

N900 already has the best resistive screen i've used, so all I'd want for the next device is the same screen (w/any possible enhancements) + multitouch
this link shows that it can be implemented properly:

When it comes to durability and sensitivity the n900 screen is enough. I think more is just excessive. My mote point on capacitive is the "big button" and "ugly ui" problem. When they can overcome that i wouldn't mind capacitive. But that will probably take some years as the precision is simply not good enough and they need to backward compatible.

In reality the resisitive already have my wanted technique and capacitive don't. So.. as of now resisitive win.

I voted capacitive only for multi touch if there was a resistive panel with multi I would choose that.

If you want something that responds when touched in multiple places, go get a girlfriend

kidding, I love the resistive, the only negative being the lesser screen brightness/clarity.

and relax guys, dont be too fanatic about your n900/nokia. agree it is the best device on the planet, and i am one of its biggest fanboys...

2 reasons:
1. IT hasn't achieved its true potential. I love my n900 not for what it is today, but for the potential it could have reached, had nokia leveraged it.... (f@kk u nokia). Example: despite having all the openGL technology, the only good native game it has got is Bounce... ~2 years, and not even NFSU or Asphalt have been built for it... What a waste of potential!.... Same with the fm transmitter, fm receiver combo, imagine what great apps or communication methods could have been achieved with that? All potential wasted!.

2. Nokia is a company that shamelessly cannot stick to its promises. Remember your long wait for PR1.2??? And for 5 years it has treated this beast of an OS, as an unwanted kid, only to finally trade it it off to some jacks@it operating system made by M$. Why be loyal to a company that treats it's customers like gullible a@@holes??? I will keep loving my phone till its death, but not the opportunistic nokia

I think that I won't really have an option when the time comes to make a decision, as I think the capacitive nonsense has won the midshare in eyes of manufacturers.

I'm not going to debate which is better, as its all down to how well its implemented into overall user experience of the device in question. But obviously I have a personal preference towards resistive.

my next device will be capacitive.
besides, i dont think there any other major proper mobile phones these days that come with resistive screens.

but i really love using a stylus, so that will be a minus. i hope stylus-supporting capacitive screens will become standard soon.

i remember seeing a video of resistive screens that support true multitouch. saw that video like 3 or 4 years ago. looks like it never made it to mainstream devices...
