I agree it is annoying as hell especially if you are entering some data in the tab that gets reloaded. I am sure Stskeeps et al would call it a feature but I call it unquestionably a bug. No other mobile device I have ever used does that, not even this cheap and underpowered Android tablet I am using right now.
I'm a bit surprised to read this, because during the past months, I used only the N5 with SFOS, and I didn't notice such a behavior.

But yes, that's really annoying.

Probably you don't have aliendalvik on N5

I am also surprised but maybe the browser detects the amount of free RAM and purges the chached pages accordingly.
