Sorry. It was not on Twitter but on the interview article which was linked on Maemo Leste twitte.

I assume video on twitter was showcasing a new piece of calling gui to make it more enduser friendly.
Haven't seen any reports that the N900 voice call problems are solved. The Leste team is working their asses off though. Seen a lot of activity on IRC and some issues added on the bugtracker.

The upcoming update will not bring usable phone calls and smses (at least not usable in the Maemo(tm) way) yet, but that's the next part (next couple months). I'm hoping that within a week we'll have a news post up with more details.
