Hi,
I'm thinking about buying a bricked N9 from ebay.
Seller says a message appeared that "foreign software was detected that potentially could harm the device" or similar.
He says he then "tried to update the original Software" unsuccessfully and the phone turned off and since then he can't power it on anymore.
This is all the information I have.

My questions:
- Would you buy such a bricked device?
- Does the "foreign software detected" sound familiar to you?
- What are the chances it is still flashable?

Auction closes soon, some quick answers are highly appreciated!
Many thanks.

The foreign software sounds suspicious... It could be a KIRF-N9 with Java or something too...

If its genuine and powered off it could just be a device with no power left...

Many thanks thedead!
Seller says the phone comes in original box with all original accessories.
I don't think it's a fake one, but I'm unshure if it's still flashable.
E: From the photos, it looks original.

If its a real device except for CAL area having been messed around (unlikely) or the EMMC chip being borked (likely) you can most probably recover the device...

Eventually its up to you; if you think its a risk worth taking go for it

I'm asking YOU (all the experienced guys) if it's worth the risk.

This one.
I was doubtful, my limit was 51 €...
Probably soon we have a new "need to flash N9 - how?"-thread...

That's a lesson for you not to be cheap next time. You could easily 'recover' those 50 eur just by taking the device apart and selling parts, e.g. display and so on, even here in this forum.
