Amused... It's not a touchscreen, it has tactile buttons, and it's not a tablet.

The new 100 looks ok too, but for 19€... what can you really expect?

Since she already knows the 2700 classic, I think I'll take her to a store and try out the Nokia C2-01, 100 and alike and see how she likes them. It's hard to decide without having them in hands and actually using them.
Quick reply...
Nokia 100 looks good. It doesn't have camera but, at least, it has flash-light.
What about Nokia 1280? Or waterproof Nokia 3720 classic?
Best wishes.

Iphone 3GS - she wouldn't make use of all the features, so it's still too expensive.
Doesn't make sense.
If its a cheap enough phone with additional features, its all for the better.

Even if she doesn't use the extra features, you could. Or her grandchildren could. Maybe you could jailbreak it and use it (once in a while) yourself.

I think its a very easy phone to use, much MUCH easier than Asha phones (I've used both). She'll like it better too.

And the re-sell value is close to its purchase value... this is the best/low-risk option.

Kangal,

He doesn't want a touch-screen but something with buttons so that she can feel the touch

Doro is the best choice according to specs. But the user wants nokia so focus on nokia. Why not buy two since budget phones are so cheap.

Personally, I recommend this model if you can find one of these. Extremely solid!

So we went to a store and tried some phones.
And the winner is... Nokia 100 - big buttons, big lettering, easy to use, lightweight, good battery life and only 20 €. Deal done.
