In a comment in his blog Ari comments on the HackerEdition for the 770 and links to a good (and a bad) news for Nokia 770 owners.

"Working on it. See http://maemo.org/news/view/1183720952.html"

For a newcomer what does the 'we lack working codecs for the OMAP 1710 processor' Mean exactly? Is this a chip in the 770 that just doesnt work under 2007 when it does under 2006? Like a Kernel issue?

I would love to see a updated Flash Plugin on my 770.

The OMAP 1710 is the CPU. Some codecs are CPU-dependent. The tablet developers have acknowledged the problems with such dependencies and have resolved to strive for better hardware abstraction in the future. Unfortunately, that will not help 770 owners at all and N800 owners only to a certain extent.
