Ah, poop! I had done it via sudo and I can't seem to find a way to do it without. Oh well, it was worth a try, and at least I don't have to reboot for this sort of thing.

Thanks for trying anyway

You don't really need to reboot every time. Only if new icons get added or changed but of course you wouldn't know

Yep, works for me. GPS turns off whenever Camera+ is backgrounded.

This didn't work for me. (yeah, I know it's not critical) Error was:
Failed to open connection to "session" message bus: Using X11 for dbus-daemon autolaunch was disabled at compile time, set your DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS instead
I install via ssh from my desktop to developer on N9 and then...
Code:
sudo aegis-apt-get install cameraplus

I tried via ssh; devel-su; dpkg -i and got the banner.
I tried again using the standard installer and it did not work.

I guess the only viable option is for camera+ itself to show the banner upon startup.

Prior to your call to dbus-send should fix it.

Here's 0.0.8. Catch it while still hot

* Reworked preview animation
* Fixed reboot banner not showing up (Fix by SteveYoungs).
* Improved start up time a bit
* Added an option to disable preview for captured images and recorded videos
* Added support for strftime() formatting to creator name text

Looking good and working well. The strftime() formatting from "Creator Name" field is working great, and I got the dbus banner this time.

A couple of minor things...
  1. Possibly an off-by-one bug in the image filename. The current date on my N9 is 2013-09-16, but the image files captured today are being named: 2013-09-15_NNN.jpg
  2. There is some spurious output from dbus-send on the terminal. It is completely harmless but novice users might mistake it for an error. Redirect dbus-send to /dev/null will prevent potential FAQs.

Great work, mate, I love this app!

It's not off but the GMT time is used to calculate the time stamp for filenames. That's why the date seems to be off by one.

I will redirect dbus output to /dev/null

And thanks for your fix Steve

Glad it works! Credit goes to SteveYoungs this time

BTW has anybody noticed an improvement in the start up time?

Substantially faster startup time than previous 2 versions, good work
