Check out GPE Calendar. I used that for a while and it has alerts and pop-up reminders. It's not a perfect calendar but if you want the alerts then this is the ticket. You can apparently get it here http://www.cobb.uk.net/NokiaIT/index.html#gpe .

I know this is a late response but who knows who may come across this??

I unchecked the "daylight savings" option from the date/time settings and now my dates are showing up on the right date but now they are all an hour off. If I put an event in Google calendar at 3pm it will be display in mcalendar at 2pm. I'm still playing with the settings to get this right but at least my dates are showing up on the right day now.. now all I gotta get is for them to show up on the right hour.

Edit: Daylight savings recently occurred so I reapplied "daylight savings" in my date/time settings and now the events are showing at the right time & day. How annoying is that???? I gotta keep switchin' it back and forth for each season!
