Thank you for such an useful widget!

If you look at some widgets, you have a choice of compact or normal size.
Maybe you can do something similar and give various preset size selections? (not sure if this is easily possible or not. Just an idea..)
Thanks jakiman! you are right,.. it is possible.. I just checked some of those widget's source and seems to be easy.. I just don't know why that was written in maemo page..

go to desktop edit mode (tap desktop, press the slide-in gear-icon) - then press the "wrench" icon in the applet to access settings.

If we had "curl" in Maemo, this would be the answer to my prayers

http://www.webupd8.org/2009/09/quick...mand-line.html

I've been looking for a widget that showed my unread mails in the desktop for a while. Does anybody know if it is possible chaning "curl" for "wget" so that we can use this?

Thank you in advance

Google's your friend:
http://repository.maemo.org/pool/maemo5.0/free/c/curl/

I haven't tried it but I don't see why it won't work.

Thank you very much.

I had, in fact, googled it and found this:
http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?p=307885

Maemo's source package for curl is heavily butchered - it will only build the libs; not the curl program itself.
That's what I thought there was no curl for Maemo.

Anyway, Linux newbie here. I went to the page you linked and only found .deb files for the libs. What should I do to get curl to work?

Thank you again

If you were using Claws mail then you can do that without curl.

Code:
~ $ claws-mail -help
Usage: claws-mail [OPTION]...
  --compose [address] open composition window
--subscribe [uri] subscribe to the given URI if possible
  --attach file1 [file2]...
open composition window with specified files
                         attached
  --receive receive new messages
--receive-all receive new messages of all accounts
  --send send all queued messages
--status [folder]... show the total number of messages
  --status-full [folder]...
show the status of each folder
--select folder[/msg] jumps to the specified folder/message
folder is a folder id like 'folder/sub_folder'
  --online switch to online mode
  --offline switch to offline mode
--exit --quit -q exit Claws Mail
  --debug debug mode
--help -h display this help and exit
--version -v output version information and exit
--version-full -V output version and built-in features information and exit
  --config-dir output configuration directory
  --alternate-config-dir [dir]
                         use specified configuration directory
~ $

Thanks for the advice. Just installed it, but it seems that command line commands don't work if claws-mail isn't already running. That means I'd have to keep claws-mail open at all times to make this work.

Thank you anyway
