This looks more like a 770 than the VEGA! I like the idea of a sliding keyboard, but the keys in that photo look worse than the ones on the Sony UX (yecch!).

Hmmmm....

I am looking to buy one of those, but have not seen them for sale.

Anyone know where to get one?

Did you look on their site? Looks like they're curently out of stock, due to demand. If it were in stock, it would cost $999.00 USD.

I'd simply forget this thing.

I had the chance to see and try it on the last year's (2007) CeBIT fair.
Actually it was Gigabyte branded, but both Medion and Gigabyte are not the manufacturer.
However the keyboard and display sliding mechanism are extremely cheap.

Simply crap IMHO.

Slightly OT:

On the current CeBIT fair (2008) there were still an eo 6xxx and one 7xxx unit, which also look _very_ old-fashioned and clumsily from today's perspective...

I think one of the winners shown on the CeBIT was the ASUS Eee PC with Windows XP. I didn't see Eee PC units with Linux on the CeBIT, but the masses either don't want Linux, or don't care anyway;-)
