Had a hard time naming this thread but laptop adapter is basically what it is. I've been eyeballing an acer aspire one for a while but not quite willing to lash out the money and lose a lot of functionality vs the N800. I thought about it and one of the things i wanted was a norwegian keyboard and the ability to use it on my lap without getting burned. Thanks to qwerty12 the norwegian keyboard thign wasnt hard to do, enter the second part.

I got a logitech ultra flat keyboard at a local electronics store as a base. I cut off most of the cable and added a miniUSB plug hacked to automatically put the N800 into host mode. I then found an old flash trigger and got the little screw-connector thingy from that, drilled a hole in the bottom of the keyboard and put it in there. I then took a cheap small tripod I had lying around, cut off two of the legs, and glued it to the back of a windshield mount that fit the N800.

The result I now got is a keyboard that works very well being just flat, but also has a tripod mount on the udnerside. With this I can screw on a holder for the N800 which holds it up and let it sit in place. By having the keyboard on my lap i now got my wish from the AA1 eyeballing with the device I already got, so I'm rather happyface

Very cool. I'd love to do something similar with my little BT keyboard!

For those who want to make one themselves (its quite useful and cheap) you need a logitech ultra flat keyboard, this camera tripod and this windshield mount. The screw hole on the bottom of the keybaord actually fit the tripod screw without putting in a metal one like i did, but i wanted a detachable solution and i doubt the plastic will hold fo rlong if you screw it in and out of the screw hole.

Could you post a picture of the back of the N800 on the mount? I'm wondering how you dealt with the N800's fold out stand.

All I'm going to say is: patent and sell.
