Hey I have a .wmv file that I want to play on my dvd player. What program should I use to burn the file onto the dvd? I have a DVD+R and my laptop has a dvd read/write drive.

thanks!!

To play the video on a standard DVD player, you'll need to re-encode the wmv file into DVD-compatible codecs (i.e. MPEG2 video and AC3 audio). And then generate a DVD filesystem to be burned.

Back when I used Windows, I played around with Quenc and dvdauthor. But they aren't the friendliest pieces of software.

hi, try DeVeDe -> http://blogcritics.org/archives/2007/02/05/150718.php (i pray that your using a *nix OS)

i've used this to convert .avi, .mp4,.wmv, & .mpg files, into .iso images, which readily burn to a dvd, readable for the players
