Now that there is USB host mode on the N900 (thanks to all the talented people involved) I was wondering whether there are plans to get USB audio and MIDI devices working?
I tried both a USB 1.1 class compliant audio and a MIDI interface, while both get recognized perfectly and listed correctly via lsusb they don't work, that is they don't appear as audio/MIDI devices in ALSA, for the obvious reasons that the needed modules aren't included (I presume); which makes sense since no sane person would included drivers and modules for devices you couldn't connect to the device when shipping it ... though now we can!
So anyone thought about making it happen? I thought about trying to do it myself but figuring that the phone is also tied in the audio system (one way or the other) and knowing my luck when it comes to fiddling with stuff I'm likely to break it and then wasting much time on fixing it again, thus I reasoned I should ask other more experienced people to do it .
