some sites have suggested that the iphone 4s wil start at $649 unlocked, so I assume that is the 16gb model

It'll recover when Apple announces their earnings. But this tends to happen with Apple stock for product announcements because of over-hype.

It shows you how insane the consumer (and investment) market has become, with share prices falling before the stock has even reached the shop floor.

the Iphone 4s will sell like hotcakes for no other reason than all the existing I-victims will want it because it's the "latest" one.

There is one other very minor difference between the N9 and the iPhone 4S. Apple is actually willing to sell me an iPhone, but I suspect I'm going to have to travel to Burkina Faso in order to be allowed to purchase an N9. Say what you will about Apple, they aren't internally messed up enough to sabotage the rollout of their own high end products.
