How can we fight the fire in the Canadien woods?

Just visited Mandela house. The man, the myth the legend. I think he is even more powerful dead. RIP!

It's Canadian...

Canadien is the Hockey team
(pronounced Kahn-ahh-di-en )


Look at the forests going up Dave....
They aren't deciduous trees...
they are matchstick conifer and pine...
their purpose was to grow ...fire comes around takes them all out ...
their seeds (cones) only properly seed themselves with a very intense fire..
it is their life cycle..
Only people think they should just get bigger and older....
fact is they were never meant to..
How to stop the fires?
It won't happen...
the growth cycle is short enough to be profitable as lumber...
deciduous trees take longer to grow...except the birches and poplars and such...but they die young too...
unfortunately 3 factors are at work on our trees...
1- disease
2- invading pest
3- climate change to a region of the planet never meant to get as hot as it now more and more with every passing decade...hotter and hotter..

The only way to stop the fires...
plant more leafy trees..
they retain moisture ..
help biosphere environments ...
and aid in a greater diversity ecologically....
in a changing world..

But it ain't going to happen Dave...
Any more than the Russians will stop clear cutting all their Baltic Birch....
or stop the rain forest from being turned into developed farmland...
Don't feel upset Dave....

The whole purpose of this place has been to challenge every species that comes along to evolve or die...and in the end no one keeps "on" evolving....every species has an inherent self-destruct "switch"...the end of their road built in...
the koala ..the panda..the monarch butterfly,...the platypus ...
even us...
we see imminent threat...
"look there!Big cat gonna eat us! Run!..."
we are good at imminent and immediate threat..
because we are wired for it...
"watch out! ball is gonna hit your head!..."
even short term threat...we can understand and prepare for..
but we are no different than any other species ...really ...
other than we fathom their is "some kind of elusive...effusive ...possible unseen threat looming in the distance ..MAYBE..."
so we just aren't wired for that....

Hell man if we were we never would have made it out of the trees and caves...we'd be long dead....
short term imminent threat has saved our butts...
Hell...this place has been actively trying to kill everything growing on it since the beginning of life here....
It's a wonder we made it this far...
Perhaps we will make it further still...
But no matter..
She'll go on after humans are gone...
and life here will go on...
poetry and art and music and literature and ..well everything else that is great and stupid and beautiful and dumb about us humans ..won't be...
and that is sad...
and what is just as dementedly sad is I love this crazy life-challenging mass-murdering planet - mother ..of ours...

eventually the achilles heel in any species comes to the fore...
whether it be specialization or some weakness gained at the cost of some strength...

we as a species are not invincible...
we are not outside the system of the natural world..
we are not all powerful...
if anything it is the opposite...
sitting atop the entirety of the food chain we are THE most susceptible and impacted upon by environmental change of any kind..right down to toxins, pollutions, poisons and wastes...climbing up the food chain and gaining in refinement and strength of toxicity along the way...
pity the poor environment..
pity the poor animals..
but most of all pity the humans ..
for we will be most aware of the damage and must watch and understand it ...
that is a harsh harsh thing for any species to have to cope with...
I am sure if given the choice of understanding or not understanding effect and cause and the understanding of the passage of time and it's counting..
.. no species would ever accept it as a "gift"...
rather I am sure all species would rather not be "gifted" with understanding..
If anything is a torture for our species it must be "understanding"...
it must be awareness and sentience...
the grief it brings with it..
