Does that mean US will definitely get support, or is that a "maybe, it's on the table"? I ask because I'm probably buying an X today if I can get SFOS on it in the US.

Thanks for any insight you might be able to provide.
They say it's just a payment processing issue and hopefully won't be a problem much longer.

If you are not keen to adapt the port yourself and become a heroic porter, it is not advised to get any other device. Especially if you want official Jolla support.
Until further official notice this is. Patience is advised.
I agree. My post was meant to reassure the previous poster that it doesn't appear the port to the X is a one time event, given Jolla are looking at other Sony's phones.

I feel I have to object to this. This article is just an abbreviation of some study with no mention of the whole test setup. While I think talking on the phone is distracting somehow, I personally feel more in track when talking on the phone with my hands ready to use on gearstick, turning light and wiper switches. Dialing a number is voice controlled by the cars entertainment system, for picking up and dialing I don't even need to remove my hands from the steering wheel as there are buttons there.

Besides: they haven't compared it to talking to someone in the car. The outcome of that comparison would be close to the same, especially if you have kids in the car constantly babbling and screaming. Even with a wife next to you, who is probably responding in a decent manner an listening while you talk, the distraction is only dampened by the fact, that she is also looking on the street ahead

Another sidenote: I especially find people funny that are talking holding the phone a bit away from the head and using speakers instead of the earpiece (in German "hands-free" translates more like non-attached)

They're starting to push xperia-x stuff to https://github.com/mer-hybris (for example https://github.com/mer-hybris/device-sony-loire)

This is the page where the instruction will be. At the moment there is only this message:

Here you will find instructions how to build Sailfish OS image and flash it to Sony Xperia X (F5121) device. They are currently being prepared. Please check back for updates or register your interest by writing to us and we'll alert you when this page is ready.

The link " by writing to us" looks more like an email instead of a URL:
http://www.simonas_dot_leleiva_at_jolla_dot_com.com

So perhaps email: simonas.leleiva@jolla.com to show interest...

Better yet, do not spam e-mails towards people working hard to bring this port to Sony Xperia X. It will not make the images appear faster.

The Link in the text "writing to us" is incorrectly formatted. It should be a link to the email I posted above. (At least that's what the HTML code looks like to me)

I'm not saying spam the guy. I'm saying email the guy to "register your interest" if you want to build Sailfish images.
