Hi everybody this is just a discussion (off topic)

Everything is in the title.

Does the N900 capable of mining?
What could be the do's and the obstacles to mine let's say Bitcoin with the N900.

i am not a techie person, i was just wondering, as everybody is talking about bitcoins, mining and graphic cards.

So what do you think ?

Thanks buddies.

Simple answer No

The Blockchain is currently 181GB!

I could be wrong but Im not sure the N900 can handle a file of that size

Just opening the file might work fine, but even accessing random parts of it would probably stall the CPU, causing the watchdog to kick in and reboot the device.
And I'm not yet talking about actually computing something.

This might help to understand the situation. [1] And then you need to factor in that the SoC in that phone (Mediatek MT6735) is probably 10x faster than the OMAP 3430 in the N900 (just a wild guess, could be totally off).
