cn.scs.yahoo.... what we had to set pidgin to use to get it to connect on the tablet. I didnt word my question about the protocol changes right...I know it would affect the desktop version as well, just didnt know if the desktop version had been updated to include the changes.

With that updated version of libpurple0, you don't need to deal with changing the Yahoo server at all. I've got Yahoo working perfectly fine through RTCOMM with no tweaking needed.

Same problem here. I can't get connected to the Yahoo! service. Anyone find any solutions? I'm using RTCOMM.

so: '202.43.216.31 scs.msg.yahoo.com' is no longer a fix?
