is there any way to use the n800 to record audio? as far as i know the 1/8" jack is only headphone out, but would it be possible to connect a usb microphone that works with linux? it'd be pretty cool if i could use this thing to record jams/band practices and listen to them later.

The NIT has an external microphone and the provided headphone has a microphone too. So yes, you can record audio using Maemo Recorder, for instance.

i'd like to do the same thing, the problem with these mics is that they are easily overloaded, so you need an mic input level adjuster so that the sound isn't all distorted. these mics are made to handle voice, not drums kits and amps.

I recorded portions of a concert using Maemo Recorder and the internal mic on my N800 and it worked pretty well. That was back when I was on chinook though.

Does not work for me. Diablo + N810.
I touch the red dot but the progress bar doesn't move. The filesize stays at zero. If i try again i am asked to save the previous recording but saying yes seems to lock it up.

I also reinstalled but no difference.

What are other's experience?

Works fine for me with Diablo on my N800. Slight pause when you start recording, but then it gets going fine.
