I do agree that the easiest way to end a losing conflict is to concede and knock over one's king on the chess board and pull out the political card.
And yea I have many many times seen said card played in the Jolla arena.
It is after all ...petty localized device /platform oriented politics.
I am referring to larger conflicts and collusion 'tween / with corp-gov't's-technology which result in the radical manipulation of our lives, our future devices, our security and much more.

On the topic of petty localized politics with the Jolla.. fact is ...I don't think a moderator is immediately needed when the political card is played. Since most sane people just leave. (awful confident of my state-o-mind eh? ) . The hard and soft ware probs that have been with the Jolla from the start were the beginning of my doubts personally concerning buying one. Then came the dialogue breakdown 'tween Jolla and the endusers. I think both sides need to look at that. Then the Jolla community divisiveness, arguments and finally political motivations were the last straw for me not only in considering the Jolla as a device but bothering to waste my time on such a community is absolutely out.
I don't even go to the Jolla subforums at all anymore.
I have no idea what is happening in them anymore and I am simply not interested in what is.
But when the bile creeps out and ends up in other parts of our forum unattributed to the Jolla ...
I DO personally have a problem then.

And I can't remem. who said it here ...but it went something along the lines of "Jolla hates us" (don't verbatim quote me on that ) and ..I don't think it is like that.
If I'm wrong and it is just like that....
well...maemo does not need that from a Parent company that despises us (for whatever crazed reason) nor do we need it from the other end of the stick from a polluted, bile-ridden sub-forum who is allowed here on maemo's good nature, good will and sufferance

The real topics of serious import are what the great Powers of Corp. and Gov't are doing right now to take away our basic freedoms under the guise of "needed" surveillance and safety.
I mean ...smart devices aren't "really" progressing ...but I do see more and more of them getting hamstrung so the enduser can't modify them. I do see gov't's stealing encryption keys like they were bubblegum left open on the counter at the candy store.
I do see gov't's strongly insisting (demanding) access to backdoors they shouldn't have.

This is the kind of dialogue I am speaking of concerning the interaction of REAL politics, technology, and corporations to limit us all... that we should be discussing.
