I just never thought the X10 to be anything worth having even when it was new. If you were talking about a galaxy s, maybe I would think about it. But only for a moment.

yes the only problem i have heard of with the n900 is the usb and tbh i haven't experienced this (touch wood) and hopefully never will since filing down the points on the charger and usb lead. i've had my n900 since Jan 2010 and the whole device feels the same as back then.

Talking apps - for OP : you know there is an app in the repositories which allowed you to switch off (if you want) the uodate, in 3G or wifi, that you're talking about (also there is a command via terminal if you don't want to install it..)?! ....at least it will not lagg anymore because of that annoying HAM update.....

Don't swap.
I had an X10 on their release and dumped it and kept my N900..
You will regret (at least, I did).

Was a happy owner of an X10 until it got stolen. A few months ago I would have told you not to go for it, but now that it finally has gingerbread and tons of custom roms (the last time i checked)... give it a whirl at least. I won't ever get an android device if it didn't have great community support, and the x10 has it in xda

Or you could just disable all the repos.

I would ask the other person why he wants to swap his X10 for your N900.

Yes, I looked there a few days ago, there were some performance tests, and this device flies with custom roms.
