Would people recommend applying the Mameo 2.1 Scirocco update? If so, how do you go about applying the update since there doesn't appear to be an installer.

Is this the future of updates for the 770? Ari said that there will only be developer releases. I wish Nokia would reconsider putting out easy to install releases on Nokia.com.

The windows flash tool from Nokia will install the latest version of the 770's OS (maemo 2.1).

Is the Scirocco release stable and bug-free?

um... it depends on what you mean by stable. It seems to be as stable as the 770 has ever been. It is as bug-free as the 770 has ever been.

Search the forums and you'll get:

I'm using Scirocco since November and had no problems so far. The only reason I found my device to crash is when running out of memory. Scirocco is quite stable, and with a swap file, you can avoid running out of memory most of the time.
