This site is asking beta testers for the linux version of Adobe Air. I assume it's aimed at x86 architectures but I thought I'd mention it.

Adobe AIR is available on Adobe Labs: http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/air/
It works fine on Ubuntu 7.10. Do you think is it any chance to run it on maemo?

If Nokia pay Adobe to port/licence AIR, like they did Flash, possibly. Alternatively, IT OS could get so big and powerful that Adobe want their stuff on Maemo, just like they do the iPhone.

Sorry, the last bit's an April Fool ;-)

air would solve quite a lot of app-wishes. yammer (some kind intra-business-jammer), remember the mil-client and twitter clients. but air is rather hungry, so maybe native clients for maemo could be less cpu-consuming.

Indeed, and next tot that it will possibly inspire a whole bunch of extra app-developers. I have just seen the flash-presentation on building apps with GTK and/or QT. I'm a newb to that, and it takes some effort. With air available it would be way more rapid. In the end an app could still be converted to native maemo code if needed.

Air on Maemo would be quite interessting.
