you can use theme customizer to reduce the status bar opacity to 0 therefore making it transparent, that's what i did and it looks cool

Sort of, use powatool to remove battery and clock, and you can either replace the .png files to transparent ones or use theme customizer to make it transparent. I don't think you can get rid of the menu icon though, but you can make that transparent if you wish.

I just made the bar and battery PNG's transperant and then used powatool to hide the clock. easy as that.
