You're confusing the Bluetooth HSP (HeadSet Profile) with A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) - HSP is known to be supported in OS 2008. Still no word on official A2DP support.

That's a great news for me! So we can use skype and Gtalk with a BT Headset?

Voip is definately doable with BT HSP. Note that HSP doesn't support such advanced remote control mechanisms as HFP or AVRCP would. Quality of the SCO link that HSP uses for voice ain't that great, though (*insert standard disclaimer on how people perceive quality*)

While A2DP (this is the good quality stereo audio profile) is not officially supported, by checking on [public] development on BlueZ it's quite easy to get around to what the current state is and how to configure it on.

If you have specific technical questions regarding this, asking in the mailing list might prove useful

Any suggestion for a BT headset that won't break in my pocket? :P

The blueAnt V-12 Looked nice for the n8x0 as it has caller ID display & Vibration, so it can basically replace your cell while your n800 sits in a bag (for answering VoIP calls at least...

(Though, i haven't found others with these features? And the rating for this HS doesn't look that exciting...)

Ok, so a total battery drain i'm guessing without DSP support...
Let's hope HSP isn't that way :-)

I think I need to weigh in here in support of my Motorola S805 Bluetooth headphones. I believe I first learned about them in this forum (from Milhouse?) and to me they are great. I listen principally to classical music and their sound quality I find superb. They play both with Bluetooth and alternatively through a headphone cable, and they also can be employed with a mobile phone, as they contain a microphone and an easy switching method to go between listening on the N800 via Kagu or the mobile phone.

Has anyone managed to get any BT HF to work with OS2008?

I have Nokia HS-4W and OS2008 finds it, recognizes it as Audio/Video device , pairs with it and can even make a connection with it. After connecting, internal speakers in my N800 (with OS2008) will mute, but HS-4W stays totally silent. Can't here anything and same device works well with N95 and 9300.

I have tried to find a solution from audio.conf and other files but can't find what is missing or incorrect.
