Hello
I have a problem since about one year. When I start or reboot the N900 I see the white NOKIA screen, then the yellow or white notification light begins to light and fade away. Screen is black. Then the N900 starts again and does this 4-7 times. But then suddenly it boots normal.
What could that be? I want to avoid reflashing.
Is there a bootlog, POST screen, where I can identify the error?
Is syslogd or perhaps klog able to record that?

Edit:
I use kp52, but this happend with earlier kp's too. I also use backupmenu, CSSU-thumb. I tried other batteries, same problem.
Sometimes when I reboot the N900 it's starting normally. The problem happens more often when I power-off power-on the phone I think.

I get false starts too but only if a charger is attached (I think there is a thread on this...). If I slide out the keyboard after pressing power-button to get the backupmenu/bootmenu options and choose the standard boot option, it always boots. Does yours do this?

No, it's still rebooting even with open keyboard when choosing "Maemo 5 internal nand"

For your info, this is the reboot thread I recall. Not perhaps helpful to you but there are generic resemblances ...

Disabling the watchdog in R&D mode may be something to try.
