Here's a very nice marketing presentation of the browser, with the same theme as the earlier Maemo vid. Very unique and effective, in my opinion.

Have a watch!

Points for anyone that noticed Future Crew's Second Reality at the 1m mark!

Also....

Here's a video of some Optical Character Recognition software in action!

This is useful for capturing the text on a page (using the camera -- presumably), or a business card, etc. Very neat stuff!

I hope that this software is distilled to a library, as it would be a useful component in many apps.

Feel free to post any other finds that interest you!

Looks like you can see part of the Future Crew demo thingy at 1:01 on the first vid. Some kind of 3D rendered star wars scene.

I recall that the Symbian based Sony Ericcsson P1i does this very well so nothing new. Will be good to see it in Maemo though.

True... I've seen it done on an HTC running WinMo. Of course, it's still a nice feature, and in the hands of the OSS crowd, I'm sure novel and inventive uses can be come up with.

On the ad...

That ad ROCKS. I love the old-timey techno... It's very nice to see Nokia using marketing effectively. Reading the comments on youtube, it seems that the hoard generally likes the N900.

If the N900 this does well, we may be seeing other maemo devices sooner than not!

There was some ocr talk in this thread.
How cool would it be to integrate ocrfeeder with the camera and google translate? Voila, augmented reality without a compass!

I found this: http://www.play.com/Mobiles/Mobile/4...0/Product.html - the neat thing would be the date.
