In my opinion the number one feature missing from Canola is the backup/restore on the my settings/configuration

I just updated my 770 Gregale (2006) to Beta 5 Maemo 4. I used Canola 2 Cleanup to uninstall, did a hard reboot, and then installed from the App Manager.

Before the update, I had no problems. Now, I am able to connect to my router and connection manager shows strong signal. However, I cannot connect to the net or get Gmail! I get error box stating "Network Problem" when I try to connect to a webpage and
"Error in socket operation. If using SSL encrypted e-mail, disable SSL and try again".

However, I can connect to web pages using my bluetooth cell phone as a modem!

This is horrible as I now have a media player but not an Internet Tablet that will connect to my home network!

Canola is working, however.

Any idea what is going on and how to fix it?
Please help!
Neil

Update: I just used Canola 2 Cleanup to uninstall Canola Beta 5. Then, I re-installed it. Now, everything seems to be working again. Weird.

Just one problem with podcasts from french radio RTL, for example: http://podcast.rtl.fr/onrefaitlemonde.xml

Many podcast softwares have also problems with those podcasts, but Gpodder for example manage them well.

Hi there! I tested the URL with Canola beta6 (not out yet) and it works fine here. If it doesn't work after you upgrade to beta6 (remove and readd the feed if it is already added) please add a bug report.

This is supposed to be working. I tested it here and it works for me. Maybe you can help me debug it. Please explain exactly what you are doing.

Thanks

Remembering podcast positions doesn't work for me either in beta5. Select a podcast, listen to half of it, exit canola and re-enter. The podcast starts from scratch again.

One other slight bug. If you pause an audio track in canola and an alarm occurs from the maemo clock, canola's audio starts again.

So the question is, how do you exit canola? You exit canola by using the back button in Canola (this is confirmed to work) or you actually kill canola using the task manager?

Exit with the back button.

Maybe I'm getting my wires crossed with the podcast remembering post.

For the alarm bug you leave canola running just pause the audio. When the maemo clock alarm fires off, instead of playing the alarm sound, canola resume playing the audio track. Hope that helps.

So are you playing the podcast right from the podcast list (where you do the download) or you go to "Music" and play from there? We only remember using the podcast list.
