it looks to be possible to try it out in Virtualbox, so why not give it a go, and see how it behaves there?
Granted, you need to install Sailfish OS SDK (basically QT Creator with some Sailfish OS specifics), but it's pretty straightforward.

I want to install Nemo on my N9, is it very buggy?
And can I go back to factory partitions state via --no-preserve in flasher?
