I think MeeGo has a mascot (or mascots): the characters they're using. But I submit one version in particular:

That looks like you're surrendering, Texrat. I'd rather see us going in all guns blazing, or better yet with a hand out to shake. Not sure I like the idea of surrender.

Originally the arms up is meant to represent cheering (see the site for the context). But this mascot works on numerous levels, thus proving its innate usefulness.

I actually like the old moblin mascot.
Sure, it might be revamped somehow.
Perhaps by renewing the color scheme or slightly modifying the mascot but the basic idea seems pretty good to me.
Plus it does give the right impressions don't you agree:

If we have to go with one of the characters from meego.com, I vote for the one with the eye patch. It just seems fitting, because it feels like possibly something nefarious is going on in this merger.
