Well, I did it
I downgraded PR 1.3 to PR 1.0
Generally, I used cert with PR 1.0 version. Then, I flashed PR 1.0:
Code:
sudo flasher -F DFL61_HARMATTAN_10.2011.34-1_PR_LEGACY_001-OEM1-958_ARM.bin -F mmc.bin -f --erase-user-data=secure --erase-mmc=secure
It failed at cmt-mcusw:
Code:
bb5_rdc_cert_read failed
bb5_rdc_cert_read failed
bb5_rdc_cert_read failed
bb5_rdc_cert_read failed
bb5_rdc_cert_read failed
bb5_rdc_cert_read failed
MTC_NOS_READY not received
MTC_NOS_READY not received
MTC_NOS_READY not received
CMT RFS failed
[Pipe   7] Finishing in error state with status 1
So I flashed CMT from PR 1.3:
Code:
sudo flasher -F pr1.3fw001.bin --flash-only=cmt -f -R
Now everything works Check screenshots



So, finally, I can confirm, downgrade is possible

I am definately not making a video.
I may make a short writeup, but atm i dont have time.

Also, this is really not a beginners task.
There is nothing that will make this an easy task - at least not without someone willing to spend a considerable amount of time programming.

I had sometime ago same results with downgrading as mentioned here. However, Iam not sure on the consequences of the CMT not being downgraded by these steps.

Yes, CMT can't be downgraded. In my case, (on PR 1.0) to make CMT working I needed to flash CMT from PR 1.3, that worked. CMT from 1.0 gave error, the same situation like flashing EU PR 1.3 over CN PR 1.3.
And yes, that's not for beginners. I had time and old N9 in bad state, so I took a chance.

May I ask why, though?
Why would you deliberately NOT want updates to an operating system?
Nostalgia? Or to claim that this is a "collectors item" with "original firmware"?

because we are not supposed to be able to do so
