typical uninformed idiots at T3 - factually incorrect, and total failure to recognise the groundbreaking device.

but I thought people might be amused/perplexed/angered!!

Worst Christmas present because: OK, so it had WiFi. But that was pretty much it. No touchscreen, no Bluetooth, no battery life longer than three hours. Overall, a good idea but not really thought through by Nokia, even though the company still persists with the range.
No touchscreen, no Bluetooth, wait... did the reviewer actually ever see a 770 in real life???

WSOD, anyone?

I certainly would not buy a 770 as a present for anyone, unless:
a) I hated them, or
b) I never planned to speak to them again, anyway.

quite a lot of the time I think T3 base their reviews on a five minute session with a pre-production model - perhaps even a part working variant - and write up a review with very little technical skill

my guess is this is the penalty of being primarily a magazine which is sold on paper, so in order to make deadlines and not be beaten to the scoup has to rush everything.

I wish I could say I was surprised by the reviewer's idiocy, but...

I've owned three 770s. One got a WSOD right away and was replaced by Nokia. The other has worked just fine for years, as has the replacement 770.

If they're been used for a while, chances are they're just fine.

I own two. Never have a WSOD unless I...

a. Install themes
b. Use a bad Hacker Edition not updated with a weak battery
c. Use a bad battery

Even then it's temp.

Recently WiFi in my 770 broke. Now it's an offline tablet.
But it lasted four years and was a good companion.
