For those of you who have or had Radio Shack stores where you live or lived and are feeling nostalgic now that they're pretty much circling the drain, now's your chance to get a piece of history at their corporate garage s^B^B^B^B^B^B^B^B corporate HQ auction . . .

Starting with some more relevant items:

How about a bag phone (and other stuff crammed in the box)? Perhaps a cellular hands-free kit will be of interest. Maybe a portable "trash-80"? Perhaps you're looking to make a bigger statement with a real-live TRS-80 Model III. That's about 60 pounds of unignorible PC history there.

Someone please talk me out of bidding on the gold record!

For the record, I still use my Realistic and Optimus bookshelf speakers on a regular basis.

Ok, I think I've found the real prize. An oversized Motorola flip-phone demo. For purposes of scale, it looks like it's sitting on 12" (~30cm) vinyl flooring tiles.

Sorta sad. Radio Shack was there for me during my formative geek years. Helped me build a laser with parts sourced from the local Radio Shack - the manager showed up to my elementary school science fair just to witness the thing working! (It worked too btw)

I did have a TRS-80, I still have my first soldering iron from there from childhood.

Well... if everything must go, it must go.
