Yes. But, although it's not a single-click DEB file, it's still very easy to install. All you have to do is add the Repos listed here:

http://hurdygurdy.dyndns.org/maemosword/

Unfortunately, that's where my progress has ended... Every time I attempt to add the modules (EN -- for English -- in my case), I get an error and it doesn't work: I get chapter numbers, but no textual content.

Has anyone else gotten further?

Tim

Hi there.

If you select 'EN' as in english_all.jpg , it will select all the availables modules in english (wich is quite a large number) and probably fail because of lack of space.

Try to select only one module for a start after having expanded the 'en' node (as in en_expand.jpg).

The check box in the lang directory is a ....'feature' i put there because i don't know how exactly how to have such a check box only in the childs nodes

You will have to remove the module that appear as being half installed and install it again.

If you have a terminal installed on the tablet, you may find easier to use the sword 'installmgr' utility to install modules.

Start by 'installmgr -init' and enable remote source then launch 'installmgr -r CrossWire'
Then:

- To see what is available locally:
installmgr -l

- To see what is available remotely:
installmgr -rl CrossWire

- To install a remote module such as ESV:
installmgr -ri CrossWire ESV

Launching rapier from a terminal will also gives more information about where the module installation is failing.

Hope it helps...

I was just able to install Rapier on my 770. I have been looking forward to this for a while now!

I did have some problems, but I rebooted and tried the module download again and it's working now.

Latest 770 firmware with some added debs for the latest minimo from the herring maemo.org repository.

There hasn't been much discussion on this but has any had luck putting GnomeSword together. I like it and use it on my desktop (for windoze). I am not really interested in the other program.

Or even a step by step instruction? Anyone?

Hi, just a heads up. I've finally managed to install Rapier on OS2008, using these instructions https://garage.maemo.org/tracker/?fu...5&group_id=200 (thanks Pierre).

I'm not able to install any modules yet, (when I run installmgr -s, not Remote Sources are listed) but that might be a problem with my network connection. I'll try again later.

Rapier is now in the OS2008 repository and seems to run fine...

Thanks. It works faster in os2008 then 07. Too bad its just a reader. Adding note and a few other features would make it a great program.

You could try Thummim (http://tony.maro.net/ossramblings/thummim.php). It's pretty a simple interface, but it does allow for bookmarks and highlighting. The document files (KJV is available) have to be "ripped" from online using a separate program on a computer and then copied over to your IT (or just PM me and I can email you the ones I've already ripped).

I think I spoke to soon. Now, it doesn't seem to load the modules properly. Oh, well!
