There is alot out there on the topic with Uhro Konttori software download on "thoughts" blogs the best thing going. Problems is after severals e-mails to him still unable to download the ukmp 1.74 which requires python 2.5 runtime (which is impossible to find). ukmp 1.74 is suppose to have bundled uktube and host and otg settings. Know about all the hard ward solutions with an AB microcable which isn't available. So does anyone have a link or source to use simple software download where a female-female USB connector can be used with the micro Nokia factory cable to a zip drive. thanks

Try this:
http://www.internettablettalk.com/wi..._using_OS_2008

The same method works on N810 too.

If you can't run xterm, nor do gainroot, the tablet has worse problems.

But if/when you can, there are three values you can set the mode to by a command string in the xterm:

echo XXX > /sys/devices/platform/musb_hdrc/mode

XXX can be:

host - host mode
otg - otg / autosense mode
peripheral - peripheral gadget mode

That will do it.

I recommend the usb-otg-plugin. You can install from https://garage.maemo.org/projects/usb-otg-plugin/ . It is very simple!

Which is a great app and works real well on my n800 but even though installed on n810 refuses to work. Any suggestions. (Note that this is installed on my n810 as put libs required to get it there)

See this thread

Then try the patched kernel...

Then if the fix works, go here and vote for bug 3026.

Installed usb-otg-plugin and got the usb icon in the status bar. However, when I tried to changed the usb from OTG to host, the screen went white. When the screen came back to normal, the usb icon disappeared (as had my 'personal menu').

Is anything else (besides usb-otg-plugin) needed for the install to work properly?

Seems like a great feature if I can get it to work correctly. Thanks!
