Please find a Hildonized version of Gosmore, an offline Open Street Map XML Data viewer here: http://home.kabelfoon.nl/~neil/gosmore-maemo/

It is built for OS2008 chinook and tested on a N800.

Note that this package does not contain a map. See the Gosmore website http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/index.php/Gosmore to get or create one.

Update:
New version adds:
- Start GPSD automatically using libgpsbt.
- Added example map
- Gosmore for maemo is now available from the extras repository and has a download page http://maemo.org/downloads/product/OS2008/gosmore/.

Just wanted to notify that I have built a new version based on gosmore svn dd 2008-12-28.

The build is for OS2008 (5.2008.43-7). I added osso registration so it does not get killed after 2 minutes.

Very nice. This is a nice counterpart for my osm2go Openstreetmap editor for Maemo.

I'd suggest that you add a small demo map and upload the package to extras/extras-devel. This way people can easily get an idea what the app does and how it looks and this may greatly improve your chances of having contributors.

Thanks for the suggestions. I added a small example map to the download page (and added a link to the first post).

Having the package in extras could be nice but seems like a big challenge. I don't know it is worth the effort.

Uploading something to extras isn't that much work than doing some proper deb packaging which you already did.

After doing it I can only say: it is that much work.

It is now in extras and has a download page
