I just did a quick tutorial on using x2x on the N900.
Should work on the N8x0 as well.

Hope this helps some people.

Since Windows doesn't use Xorg you won't find it.
You may be able to get it working with Xming or cygwin.

When I had my N800 I did get Synergy installed on it and that will work in Windows.

But, the best thing would most likely be to just upgrade to Linux. It's free and easy and will fix most your software headaches. You already have it on you phone, why not your Desktop.

I was just giving you a hard time, I like to do that to people.
But, I know I had Synergy installed about 2 years back on the N800 so you should be able to do it with the N900. At the very lest you should be able to get Synergy running using the Debian Chroot (I haven't tried this, but it should work).

Are you trying to compile it on the N900. Because you don't need too. You just need it on your Desktop/Laptop. That's one of the great things about x2x, it uses Xorg. So, any computer/device running Xorg can use it and you only need it on one of the 2 devices. Either can be server or client.

What distro are you using? In most cases it's in the repositories.

Once installed on you desktop ('sudo aptitude install x2x') then use this command from your N900:
Code:
ssh -X user@ipaddress 'x2x -south -from :0.0'
This will allow you to then move your cursor down off the bottom of your desktop's screen and on to the N900. The cursor will still be invisible on the N900 (There are ways to make it visible if needed) but your keyboard will now control your N900 as long as the mouse cursor over it.

Also make sure you have sshd on you Desktop so that you can connect.

Let me know if you have any trouble with this.

It works perfectly! x2x is in the repositories for 10.04 already, by the way.

I would be very interested in seeing
1)your tutorial on enabling the mouse cursor on the n900, as well as
2) whether or not you know of a way to control a computer screen with the n900 using x2x; i.e. exactly the opposite method.
