It's Linux, shouldn't it be a penguin of some sort? Serious, Tattooed, Branded, tablet in hand, something?

Incidentally I would most like to use a dog, but I think GIMP uses a dog.

Yeah, that's another alternative.

Or would that diminish Maemo if people think it's just a basic repackaging of Linux?

Personally I like cute but I guess it depends on the demeanour of the site.

Cute would be nice, but maybe not too childish woud be better.

What about a tadpole ? It's small, quick, light ... and promised to a great evolution ...

Or a salamander, it's a beautifull animal ...

I think it should be an repeated animal because everyone is chosen yet or create a new one. I know something about molecular genetics if the latter is chosen.

Gosh yerga, thanks for that list.

You're right, pretty much every animal (and even some non-existent ones like dragons) are already being used by someone.

Maybe we shouldn't use an animal?

Or maybe Penguinbait's idea of a variation on the Linux penguin?

What are people's thoughts?

I like tortoises! They are old and slow, just like our hardware now. They also don't breed very often either and take a lot of time to mature. The 770 even has a hardcover just like a tortoise shell!
