I got my 770 yesterday and I've been enjoying it fully. I've had luck installing plenty of software, but for whatever reason I've had no luck at all installing minimo. I'm running the latest version of os2006 (3.2). For example, when I try to install from maemo, it downloads the installer, the application manager opens, but that's it. http://maemo.org/downloads/product/minimo

Can anyone please point me to a repository or an install file that works easily with the 770 and os2006? Thanks for any help!

The repository I discussed in another thread helped me with the minimo problem, too.

Thanks for the help, but I've already added the herring repository and still no luck

I've tried just browsing to www.maemo.org.br/minimo/ (as listed in the install file from the maemo minimo page) and I've tried the following directories, all with the same result: "Unable to install. Incompatible package"

http://www.maemo.org.br/minimo/dists.../binary-armel/
http://www.maemo.org.br/minimo/dists.../binary-armel/
http://www.maemo.org.br/minimo/dists.../binary-armel/

Minimo has never shown up as an option to install in the application manager for me.

I also just found this site, and I'm slowly working my way through the 770 list...

www.gronmayer.com/n800/repos/

Ah ha! Success!

On the page www.gronmayer.com/n800/repos/

scroll down to the "Minimo" entry (4th one down) in the 770 column (while browsing via your 770) and click on the link. It will add a new repository, and then minimo will show up in the applications manager and install!

What seems strange is that the repository it seems to adds is:

www.maemo.org/minimo
bora
user

Which I thought I had added already. Whatever - it works

Thanks again for the help!

hey it works!

** SLOWLY **

seriously, everything renders beautifully, but it's too slow to be usable, in my opinion.
