I love to use that preinstalled microb. I like it has flash plugin, it is quite fast, it has good switching between windows.
Firefox is very very slow, and is without flash support.
I didn't tried Opera yet.
Chromium is good, it also has possibility of flash but is much slower even when overclocked than default browser. Plus I don't like it has no zooming possibility and overall is quite from another world, I think it doesn't fit good in maemo.

The easiest and quickest way of switching windows I can think of is ctrl+backspace for dashboard, then using the key shortcuts (q for first window in dashboard, w for second, a for first on second row, etc, also shift/fn + key closes). This requires CSSU (but no extra tweaking, though could be wrong).

MicroB is much more usable after applying the speed patch, however it still sometimes just shows a white screen when switching between browser windows.

Or download .deb file from there:
http://maemo.jacekowski.org/pool/free/c/chromium/
and manually install it through x-terminal

Hi all,

Yesterday I installed Firefox 8 (beta 1) and I did notice that both startup and use is a bit faster than with previous versions (not a lot, but you notice it).

Unfortunately at some point the N900 froze (maybe temporarily, but after 1 minute it didn't respond to anything) so I had to turn it off (had already an uptime of 30 days

I don't know if Firefox is/was to blame. I continued using it a bit and had no problems..

If you need speed, Opera is your Browser hands down.

If you need to keep track of what you've opened before (including desktop), Firefox is your browser.

If you need practicality and flash with reasonable speed, Microb is your Browser.

If you need Java+everything else, and don't care it is not finger compatible, Chromium is your browser.
