Nokia-N900:~# dpkg -l |grep libzlibrary
ii libzlibrary 0.12.10-3 Platform-dependent part of fbreader
Nokia-N900:~#

Nokia-N900:~# dpkg -l |grep libfribidi*
ii libfribidi0 0.10.4-6 Free Implementation of the Unicode BiDi algorithm
Nokia-N900:~#

but as you can see it is in fact installed for me
OK, did apt-get install libfribidi0 first. Then gone boldly and installed the latest dev build. Surprisingly it works. It seem to open pdf files, but doesn't show anything at all

The only thing is missing so far is the proper fbreader app icon.

Apparently, this is not a calibre related bug -> http://bugs.calibre-ebook.com/ticket/4818

Could this be fixed upstream in Easy Debian?

I've succeeded in installing calibre in Easy Debian, see my postings in the main Easy Debian thread.

Hi rebhana,

I tried your steps with a clean easy debian image. After enabling the sid repo and installing the packages, it stils gives libpulse.so.0 error. How did you fix this error?

As mentioned in my posting, I needed to upgradel libpulse0 to the squeeze version (with some side effects on sound under Easy Debian, which is not of importance to me, though).

And the to do that is:

Disable sid back and enable squeeze and later do apt-get upgrade libpulse0?

I used sid only for getting the newer calibre version, not the rest. And after you are done, you might want to disable squeeze again, too.

Hah, The way I did was wrong then. I used sid at first. Later I couldn't lunch calibre due to the libpulse0 error. I tried to update libpulse0 using by squeeze enable. To no avail, gives size mismatch errors for xulrunner packages.

The right is just enable squeeze repos first and use apt-get update, apt-get install calibre right?
