Any comments?
Looks like a good test, sorry to hear it didn't work.

Has this been confirmed to work in android on the X dual?

Have you looked in dmesg for any messages about the second sim without the tape?

1. try with less tape width, maybe add two-sided tape under
2. change your nickname to "Hack"
3. submit your hack on Hackaday.com

I am pretty sure that I tested it and it worked when I got my F5122 (had one stripped SIM card prepared for that) long ago. But getting old, so memory is not so reliable anymore.

Have to look messages, if I can find any.

The only difference was the tape on the sdcard connectors. So, 2nd SIM card is "well" installed, having proper contact.

This hack for Xperia is well known, nickname should be "Copy"

There's no need for a third party flashlight app or working with sources of other stuff. There's a flashlight toggle built into Sailfish X:

Or even better the upcoming kernel 4.4 that Sony is preparing as part of their Android 8.0 Oreo efforts.

Thank you all for your thorough answers!

Short update: I opened a ticket, mentioned all the relevant posts in this forum and I got a rather quick "solution":
"Sorry for this limitation. It is not a bug but an unimplemented feature."
They refered me to this info:
https://jolla.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/a...are-supported-

Let's wait some time. If this does not help, perhaps it will be possible to identify some working big microsd cards along this information:

I saved dmesg messages in both without tape and with tape. Compared with notepad++. There are differences :-) but i don't understand much about the messages.
I can share them if it helps anyone (someone told there is no "critical personal information" in the messages. Too many lines to check it.)

I beg to differ.

Compare:

Stumbling in darkness, opening lock screen, swiping left to reach events screen. Swipe down to reach the "shortcuts". Trying to hit with trembling finger the icon to activate flashlight.

To:

Stumbling in darkness, opening lock screen, pull down to reveal the application shortcuts and releasing finger on Torchlight application.

Why don't you add Hammerhead Torch to the lockscreen pulley menu? Open Lockscreen, pull down to activate Torch and the light is on.

I wrote Hammerhead Torch. I'm happy to talk to anyone who wants to adapt it for some other purpose.
