new owner of a N9, sometimes I forget where I put it, but I know it's connected to my local network, so I wish to do the same that I do with the other pocket computer I own, namely:

- ssh theresia,
- espeak "please have a look down here, how can it be that you never remember where you dump me"

the long text gives me the time to localize it and theresia is its mnemonic name in my network

but where is espeak, or mplayer, or sox, or anything similar, on N9?

If you can ssh to the device, espeak is here
Use wget to fetch an dpkg -i to install

http://harmattan.openrepos.net/rzr/p...6.11_armel.deb

mplayer is one version here
https://garage.maemo.org/frs/downloa...27-1_armel.deb

Hi and thank you quickly!

I realized that in the meanwhile, after my last attempt to apt-get install espeak, I had added the repository from which you suggest grabbing the deb file. so probably a more complete answer, at least as far as espeak goes, would be to add this file to the system, do apt-get update, and try again.

user@theresia:~$ cat /etc/apt/sources.list.d/openrepos-rzs.list; echo
deb http://harmattan.openrepos.net/rzr personal main

for mplayer, you aren't aware of any repository hosting it, so we can respect dependencies among packages?

thank you again for the quick, informative answer!
