That's up to you!

I waited until my download was complete

Search the forums, make sure your must-have apps are working with OS2008, etc.

Back everything up, you can always go back to OS2007 if you have to.

I know what it is Reggie. I'm not thick. I managed to get it done minus two repos. Shame that means I have no openssh or ncursesbase at the moment.

I've managed to install a few packages but even small ones can time out; the maps server must also similarly be bogged down.
hardware seems to be working fine - wifi, bluetooth, sound, display brightness, camera, buttons etc.
I've not had my n800 long enough to compare to os2007, but in comparison to os2007 and os2006 on my n770:
* don't much like the new rss reader - the text is spaced out too much,
* the screen brightness control has too few steps.
* the media player is much improved
* the home page layout is harder to customise as there's no separate layout change mode, so you end up kicking off an application instead of moving the applet

so far I'm quite pleased.

Wow... in the 36 hours since Texrat posted only the N810 image to my poor little server, it's been getting pummeled (>120GB/day). I'm not sure how y'all are doing, but the US has been my heaviest downloader at 85GB with Finland close behind at 11GB.

PUBLIC STATS (no showing Intranet/VPN traffic):

There must be alot of people lurking on ITT. I'm also seeing alot of traffic from users worldwide googling on the image names, and downloading directly.

*ouch*

I doubt he meant to imply you're "thick". There are just numerous posts exclamining that AppMan itself is hosed and I don't think Reggie is keeping exact track of who knows the difference.

Sorry man.

What I'd like to see are posts from people on which image they used (Legacy or Combined) and what issues they encountered.

icerabbit says BIG big thanks to Noneus.

I couldn't get anything but errors or bytes from Maemo. Thanks so much for stepping in and sharing! Quite the server / server connection you have! Only took a few minutes
