It's hard to believe that when Microsoft bought Nokia's phone division, they did not insist on a "noncompete clause". It would make little sense to buy a well-known brand name like Nokia, if they original company could just continue making Nokia brand phones too.

I may be wrong but I thought I once read there was an agreement that Nokia could not make any phones for a few years and that this agreement expires this year.

Nokia is not going to make phones by the end of 2016(?) but equally nothing stops them designing. Besides all that are leaks...

well its past 2016, hopefully we will start seeing some interesting new Nokia phones.

I have been thinking about replacing my wife's Lumia POS
