Here is my situation: a while ago I found out I had a problem with my rootfs being full, someone here helped me with some useful links to clear some space, I ended up clearing about 3Mb and that was enough to let me install programs again and as a result installed BackupMenu + backed up to be on the safe side.

My problem now is: when trying to upgrade the power kernel from v7 to v8 it stopped halfway because "no space left" and as a result there was now 200kb of rootfs space, tried apt-get autoremove but no success. SO I decided to use BackupMenu and restore my last working Rootfs image (the one with 3mb free rootfs space) but now I have a full rootfs again

My second problem is: I also have the broken usb problem, so BackupMenu is my only option

So my question is, can anyone spare me a clean rootfs image to download, if this isn't too much of a hassle for you.. and fix this.
Thanks in advance everyone

That would be absolutely wonderful robin92. cheers!

I have to log off nowish because I'm on the public library, but when I go back on it I'll download it and let you know how it works, you're a lifesaver!

(maybe we could use this thread as a base for downloadable rootfs images (clean, or with other programs preinstalled) for people in similar situations as me. and I could try to make mirror links of them with my mediafire account )

(Love this community, quick responses and so helpful, If only other forums on the internet were like this)

Make sure you restore a compatible OptFS, lest your system be only half-bootable and or have stray files from old programs around.

Ah, I don't have one, but I think I saw BackupMenu having an option to clear OptFS if only restoring rootfs right? because that's what I might do, and don't mind if it'll take a while to reinstall everything, i'll return to college soon and will use their wifi to reinstall everything =D

Also, I'll rename this thread as "downloadable rootfs/optfs" soon and make mirrors when I can etc.

NO!
That option will make your system mostly unbootable: Only BM will still work.
There are files on the optfs that are needed by the OS.
In order do do what you want, you really need a "blank" optfs image. Check the first post in my BM topic for a link to my website; there's a set of root+opt images in one of the subfolders.
