I believe it would be worse if F(x)tec didn't announce anything, and then later suddenly increased the price without prior notice, shaihkritzer. They might not know what price they'll have to set yet, and no one can really blame them for that, but at least they warned you that the best price you can expect is now. I mean, what more can we ask?

In English (British English at least, I don't know about North American or Australasian), we have a traditional saying: "A watched pot never boils". A lot of posts here have reminded me of this. Maybe it would help to find something else to do, and take your eyes off the ball for a while....

Unfortunately, I won't be getting a Pro1 - my gadget budget has been blown out of the water this year, and there are only so many devices I can keep in use at any one time. It does look like a stunning piece of design and engineering though, and I have been very tempted. When one of my current devices is coming up for retirement, I'll definitely look at what F(x)tec has to offer.

We don't talk much about other OS beside sailfish here. Maemo-leste is coming alone well. But it may not be ready by the time people get the pro1. So what else to run beside android.

Well, what about fosh on top of postmark?

This little working UI/UX prototype seems promising.



The question is will the pro1 be able to eventually run mainline? Cuz that would open up a huge world of possibilities

is this really the most advanced thing Purism has to show for their Gnome Mobile OS?

Everything is possible with effort, its just a question of how much. I'd expect it will take some time before non-hybris operating systems are usable for ordinary folk
