Is there a build of Festival or Flite for Sailfish OS? I've been testing and it seems to have much more natural-sounding speech than eSpeak.

Try Flite-for-Android on Sailfish?..
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...eech.tts.flite

This one is possibly for Maemo 5 (Fremantle), but not sure:

Thank you. Best wishes.

I'd prefer not to try and work with an Android app, given that I'm trying to do this from a Sailfish native app.

That is definitely either for Fremantle or Harmattan, as it uses a .deb package. Sailfish OS uses .rpm packages.

For Maemo 6 (Harmattan), likely...

Who has the experience of compiling Sailfish-native apps?

Would an rpm from Fedora work? File, Description

Thank you. Best wishes.

I'm still learning how to develop for Sailfish; as of yet I have not figured out how to compile on-device. Could you point me towards any useful information?

Ok, I figured out which packages to install to build flite, and it's working - no sound output because there is no /dev/dsp, but I can export to a .wav and play that.
