thanks for the port, but could you please compile it for chinook, since now it uses libssl 0.9.8 which comes with diablo only...

I only have one development environment set up and since diablo is the only version so far that comes close to meeting my needs I won't be setting up another for chinook. Perhaps someone set up for that can compile it for you.

I changed the original post to reflect the latest build.

dblank, this one is interesting because if you click on a link it brings up the right click menu where I "turned on" the follow link menu item. So now you can follow the link or open in new window. The added benefit of this is that you can see the URL in the status bar when you click on it.

I think I'm pretty satisfied with this program now and do not expect to modify it any further.

Assuming that you are trying to install links2, it's now in some of the repositories. Check out http://www.gronmayer.com/it/index.php and type in links2 in the search field. I've just installed it (via apt-get) from the p.quinput.eu chinook repository. Works like a charm!

yes, i found it there too, so stoked. only thing is it's not properly maemo-ed so it doesn't get along with window switching. i.e. if you switch to another app the links2 window can't be found. you have to kill -9 ans start over.

I'd still like to get my hands on coffeedrinker's hacked-up version.

Perhaps you'll consider hosting it again?

I just run it from a roxterm (osso-xterm should be fine as well). I didn't try running it directly.

I mean 'links2 -g', the graphical version...just disappears into the abyss if you switch windows. 'course the terminal/text version is still there...

Ah, sorry! I'd never used the graphical interface before. Looks nice but defeats the purpose (for my needs, of course!). Emacs (the X version) suffers from the same problem, however, and it is indeed annoying, especially when you forget and hit the home button or something.

Best of luck finding a solution!

eric
