Can the list controls not be upgraded to do this themselves?

i.e. if the list is short, no scrollbar/letterjump
If the list is medium length (up to X pages?) show a draggable scrollbar
If the list is long, show the letterjump

The list knows itself how long it is.. On most dektop platforms lists render their own scrollbars depending on their own length, and the developer elects to have the list show scrollers or not. The principle could be replicated in the N900s ui

I feel a bit stupid.

I did put some time and work into a brainstorm http://maemo.org/community/brainstor..._address_book/

First you need 10 people to vote for it
Then you need solutions
Now I got 30 thumbs up (not much but 100% thumbs up)

And now?

I feel like I could have done without the effert. And probably so could Maemo. Somehow it would be nice if there were a liste where you could see if any in the Nokia Development Department even cares about what the community produces. (Besides bug reports which are kind of beta testing)

Regards Markus
